Bernardo Freire

Bernardo Freire is a film critic on the podcast Freire & Marques no Cinema. For two years, he hosted the program A Lei do Cinema on Camões TV. In 2022, he brought his writings from the digital world to print with the book Visão de um Crítico – Reflexões e Ensaios de Cinema, and he hopes this is only the beginning.
A self‑taught critic, he shaped his view of cinema through the continuous practice of watching, reading, and discussing films. He has been writing criticism since 2016, having collaborated with Jornal da Bairrada, OBarrete, Cinema em Portugal, and the Brazilian magazine Conhece-te. He has served as a juror for several film festivals and awards, including Prémios Curtas, the Arouca International Film Festival, Marmostra, and Triste para Sempre.
João Rita

João Rita is a Portuguese programmer and film promoter with a background in Cinema.
He is the Director of the Arouca Film Festival – Arouca International Film Festival, where he develops programming, curatorship, and cultural expansion strategies. He also serves as president of the Arouca Film Club, leading training, screening, and film outreach activities.
His work focuses on promoting Portuguese cinema, building audiences, and developing cultural projects with local and national impact.
Maria Adrover

She holds a degree in English Philology and Master’s degrees in Tourism Marketing, Dramaturgy, and Audiovisual Screenwriting. She has written several documentary scripts, and works as a journalist and as a teacher of Creative Writing and Narrative Construction. She is the Deputy Director of the Arouca International Film Festival and the Vice-President of the Arouca Cine Club Association.
